Nestled in the graveyard of St George’s Church is a building which has stood for over 100 years. The hut is a wonderfully sweet building, made by a local builder at the beginning of the 20th Century, which now needs to be saved from certain collapse.
Time has caught up with the old hut; some woodworm is present but not too much. The roof appears to have fallen off as nails have rusted through and it is covered with a tarpaulin now to give some protection. We will need to fund lots of timber and source plenty of old roof tiles to bring the building back to a weather proof state. I am trying to secure funding from The Parish Council and local support from villagers who are keen to give time to a worthwhile project.
We already have a few people willing to help in a community rebuild project and need more to come forward. If you feel you have access to skills or sponsorship which could help in this project, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
